Position Title: Senior Project Engineer

Location: Guangzhou, China

Reports to: Leader, Engineering

JOB SUMMARY:

The main purpose of this position is to provide engineering project leadership for New Product Development and the maintenance of existing products in the category(s). This position will lead new product design and execution by working together with engineering department of global divisions, suppliers, and external resources while the maintaining schedules, ensures that products meet the design goals to meet the perceived need of the consumer, resolve supplier technical issues and assist to improve supplier manufacturing process.

As Sr. Project Engineer, she/he will assist manger to coach new engineers, and to assist manager to define/refine best procedure & practices on product design, project development, process, best practices, etc.

JOB DUTIES:

• New Product Focus - Be responsible for the product form, structure and function. Works with global project teams to understand and communicate project scope and evaluate design and resource requirements

• Effectively and appropriately execute and communicate with all levels of the organization and supplier and make sure assigned projects/tasks are finished as request.

• Lead to build engineering documents including product specification, DVPR, DFMEA, BOM, etc.

• Set up detailed project execution plans including tasks/schedule/resource requirement, etc.

• Conduct regular review with project team(stakeholders) and supplier, monitor project progress verses planed schedule, take appropriate actions to drive the project being successfully delivered on time.

• Drive project development, follow defined NPD process, identify risks and create contingency plan during execution phase

• Lead manufacturing/design issue problem solving by working closely with internal and external parties.

• Support sourcing on cost analysis and negotiation.

• Product Safety, Standards and Reliability - Ensures that products have been tested and evaluated for reliability, and that they meet applicable regulations, codes and standards.

• Supplier management & improvement - Drive supplier to improve design, project development, tooling, evaluation and manufacturing capabilities.

• Post PSA—Support existing product maintenance during its product life cycle.

• Assist Quality Assurance and Reliability Engineering by helping to identify and communicate Critical To Quality requirements and reviewing manufacturing control processes.

• Assist manager to train new engineer and establish/refine process/procedure, best practice, engineering documentation template, etc.

• Assist manager to train and coach new engineer.

• Other task assigned by manager

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering/Industrial Engineering/Textile engineering or equivalent experience.

• 6+ years of experiences in consumer products for product design, manufacturing.

• 5+ years of experience in project management

• Injection mold or sheet metal tooling design or experiences with Burning Appliance is a big plus.
