Senior Manager, Continuous Improvement & Project Management

This position reports into the Regional Make Excellence Lead for North America with a dotted line into the Guelph Manufacturing Plant Lead and is based in Guelph, Ontario, Canada.

What will you do

This role is a senior leader of the site responsible for the development and execution of the organization’s strategies, goals and objectives. Leads site-wide program and project management (PMO) and project portfolio management (PPM) and associated governance processes that drive continuous improvement, product insourcing, and new product introductions (NPIs). Provides leadership and guidance across all internal site functions (Plan, Make, Source, Deliver, Quality) driving End-to-End (E2E) business KPIs and connects externally to these functions within the region. Supports daily business operations and functions as the Site subject matter expert for continuous improvement and problem-solving methodologies as well as driving benchmark and innovative thinking at the site. Routinely called upon to lead crisis management and hyper-care situations and function as Site Lead in their absence. Leads change management and makes decisions based on the tenets of the Kenvue Way.

Responsibilities:

  • Drives overall site governance processes that enable the site to meet Safety, Quality, Service, and Cost goals for both short and long term.

  • Coordinates & leads key site programs that drive the continuous improvement strategy and execution including but not limited to deployment of the Kenvue Production System (KPS), overall cost reduction/GP improvement, continuous improvement capability building (Lean, Six-Sigma, Root Cause Problem Solving (RCPS), Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), changeover (SMED) , Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) methodologies, etc. in line with both site and commercial strategy.

  • Responsible for coordinating all site-level project portfolio activities, including volume transfers, bids/business cases for new products and transfers, New Product Introduction (NPI) and formula/reformulation activities.

  • Ensures prioritization of process improvement resources to support delivery of cost and efficiency commitments.

  • Drives mindset and behavior changes across the site through leadership of various initiatives, capability building, and leadership of change management in line with principles of the Kenvue Way.

  • Coordinates development and deployment of Site objectives; defines and aligns site dashboards and scorecards to drive site evolution and maturity. Collaborates across functions internally and externally to achieve E2E alignment.

  • Manages data systems and standard processes to enable prioritization, resource allocation, and project management for site portfolio in line with global and regional priorities

  • Champions people and organization development initiatives.

  • Functions as a key connector to groups outside of the facility for benchmarking, practice sharing, and development of new strategies, understanding of new technologies, and driving innovation at the site.

What we are looking for

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Technical (engineering / science) and/or MBA or post graduate degree preferred

  • Process Excellence (Design Excellence, Six-Sigma and/or Lean) certification

  • Minimum 7 years of diverse experience across different areas of Manufacturing required. (Manufacturing / Operations, Project Management, Process Excellence with broader Supply Chain experience (Plan, Source, Make, Deliver) a plus.

  • A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated direct people management experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Ability to interact, motivate, influence and lead individuals in a matrix environment, managing complexity with multiple, concurrent priorities, collaborating across boundaries, conflict management and influencing without authority

  • Demonstrated ability to achieve business goals in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders

  • Strong data visualization and analytical skills including statistical tool knowledge

  • Strong financial acumen at both plant/business level and department budgetary level

  • Strong communication (written, verbal, presentation), self-awareness and change management skills with ability to communicate well from floor level operations to senior Vice President levels

  • Capability to facilitate discussions and workshops at multiple organizational levels and cross-functional teams

  • Strategic thinking and strategy development capabilities required with ability to identify and recommend decisions based on trade-off assessments.

  • Values diverse point of views and optimizes results through leveraging diversity

Desired Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years working in a Pharmaceutical/OTC direct/Healthcare manufacturing position

  • Black Belt Certification

  • Project Management certification

  • Demonstrated ability to drive innovation preferred

This position is located in Guelph ON and may require up to 10% domestic travel.
