Hartsbrook School Early Childhood Lead Teacher in Hadley, Massachusetts

HADLEY Early Childhood Lead Teacher The Hartsbrook School is in search of an experienced and enthusiastic individual to serve as the Early Childhood Lead Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. The ideal candidate would have a passion for working with a diverse group of young children aged 2 years 9 months to 6 years old, preferably with Waldorf early childhood training. The role involves leading an Early Childhood classroom, collaborating with colleagues on a daily basis, and participating in parent/caregiver, department, and faculty meetings, and contributing to an intentionally inclusive school culture, both within the classroom as well as the wider school community. Following the Waldorf education principles, the teacher will design daily and weekly activities, establish a healthy rhythm, and implement a yearly curriculum reflecting the seasons and festivals. Each year the Hartsbrook School welcomes over 60 early childhood families who hold a variety of identities and backgrounds to our four mixed-age Farm and Forest early childhood programs. The Hartsbrook School offers children an immersive experience in the natural world. Here the turning of the seasons, the nurturing of the child\'s senses, purposeful work, inclusion, music, and plenty of opportunity for creative play and movement form the foundation of our developmental curriculum. The fields and forests of Hartsbrook\'s 54 acres offer incredible opportunities for exploration and wonder. Our days are woven through with song, story, artistic activity, and seasonal festivals. Qualifications for the position include a Bachelor\'s degree, Waldorf early childhood training (with preference given to candidates with a WECAN-recognized Birth to Seven Waldorf Teacher Training certificate), and previous teaching experience in a WECAN-recognized Early Childhood Program. Key competencies sought in candidates are: Experience working in diverse classroom settings Experience or interest in Waldorf education Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues Experience in equity and inclusion work that supports a diverse community Interest in making a positive impact on the lives of children
