Job Title – Line Operator

Business Unit - Nestlé Confectionery

Location: Halifax, West Yorkshire

Salary: £28,451 per annum

Continental shift pattern of Shift Based Position – This is an annualised hours position, with the majority of hours worked over an 8-month period. Your hours average per week over a year is 27.99 per week. This is a mixed shift pattern inclusive of a day and night shift pattern.

(The way this works – In High Season (May) you would work 36 hours per week and in low season would be committed to lower hours, but you would support the labour team when required)

Must be available to attend an assessment centre, also in the event that you have engaged in this position previously your application has already been considered.

Position Summary

We have opportunities for experienced Line Operators working on a shift pattern rotational shift. The roles are based at our Confectionery in Halifax factory, West Yorkshire.

Manufacturing in Nestlé is all about ensuring the consumer receives a perfect quality product, at the right time and place whilst driving losses from our business in order to maximise efficiency & productivity.

Nestlé Halifax Factory in West Yorkshire is the home of the iconic confectionary brand Quality Street amongst several other well-known brands such as After Eight. These are produced through controlled process plant and automated filling and packing lines.

A day in the life of a Line Operator …

Reporting to the Shift Manager, your main accountability will be to achieve performance targets by following SOP processes and adherence to standards while operating machines and systems. In addition to this, you will be ensuring that the process runs at its optimum, producing high quality product and coordinating actions where necessary on your line.

Other key responsibilities will include:

• Ability to work as part of a team to delivery high quality products.

• Ensure high safety and quality standards are adhered to.

• Approach work with a continuous improvement mind-set.

• Support with factory activities in order to achieve KPIs.

The role will also require adaptability and flexibility as you may be required to work in different areas of the department and plant.

What will make you successful?

  • Proven track record in a Manufacturing environment (ideally but not essential food based)

  • Understand basic Health and Safety principles in the manufacturing environment.

  • Good communication and problem solving skills.

  • Basic Competence on modern technology (Android /Iphone / Tablet )

  • Desirable experience in SAP
