Your responsibilities Summary: As a working lead, assists supervisors in the development of work procedures, work schedules and guiding hourly warehouse staff in day-to-day operations in the warehouse. Oversees and directs Material Handlers engaged in lifting, transporting and loading materials for storage and smooth flow to the production lines. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Maintains a safe working environment by complying with all safety and environmental policies in the workplace. Advocates for and promotes a safe work environment by reporting Near Misses and/or other safety and environmental hazards, wearing all required PPE and encouraging others to do the same. Leads daily start up meetings to communicate daily goals and special announcements. Assists the 4-shift model team in answering emails and phone calls. Monitoring the workload to ensure all KPI's are met. Monitors all MRO ordering to ensure on-time deliveries and no production downtime. Ensures individual and team output/production meets goals and objectives. Ensures team is working within the guidelines of all company policies and procedures. Coordinates manpower to ensure needs are met in the event of an employee absence (i.e. vacation). Interprets specifications and job orders to Material Handlers, and assigns duties. Promotes and supports a teamwork approach to achieving goals, ensuring open and effective communication. Ensures the development of Material Handlers through cross-training and monitoring job performance. Recognizes good performance and takes corrective action when needed. Embraces a continuous improvement approach through effective leadership, with high levels of integrity and performance for his/herself and others. Performs as a superior role model for all employees (e.g. attendance). Ensures implementation of 6S throughout the warehouse. Assists in maintaining the current Warehouse Management System; and Warehouse Management module in SAP. Operates forklift as needed to assist Material Handlers in keeping up with demand to include replenishing items, moving pallets to different locations or assisting in the loading and unloading of trucks. Works closely with Warehouse Supervisor to eliminate waste and increase overall efficiencies. Maintains and improves inventory integrity. Available to assist in coverage across the 4-Shift Model / 1st Shift Model when peers are on PTO or absent from work for other reasons, as needed. Is approachable, professional, and courteous to all employees and is expected to answer all questions and assist in problem solving. Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Your profile Qualifications & Experience: Demonstrated experience leading and motivating teams in situations associated with high volumes of work and/or customer demands. This would include providing direction, coaching, and effective feedback to team members. Experience working in a warehouse environment safely operating facility material handling equipment (e.g. forklift, tuggers, dock stockers, etc.) Experience operating various stand-up forklifts.
