Engineering Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Engineering Technicians to join our team and contribute to the development of new state of the art product. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building complex wire harnesses, improving SOPs, and collaborating with the development team to enhance processes. This role involves manual data documentation and following technical instructions for wire processing, cutting, soldering, and crimping/stripping wire.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble wire harnesses according to technical specifications, connecting wires, cables, and connectors.

  • Inspect completed wire harnesses for quality, ensuring proper connections and adherence to safety standards.

  • Maintain accurate records of assembly processes, including part numbers, quantities, and deviations from standard procedures.

  • Work closely with team members, engineers, and supervisors to meet production goals and maintain workflow.

  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.

  • Construct components, subunits, or simple models and adapt standard equipment.

  • Follow specific layouts and scientific diagrams to construct and package devices and subunits of equipment.

  • Conduct various tests or experiments, including setting up and operating standard test equipment and recording test data.

  • Extract and compile engineering data, identify errors or inconsistencies, and select methods for data presentation.

  • Assist in design modification by compiling data related to design, specifications, and materials.

  • Develop information concerning previous operational failures and modifications.

  • Perform assignments that are not completely standardized or prescribed, selecting or adapting standard procedures or equipment.

  • Receive initial instructions and equipment requirements from supervisors or engineers and perform recurring work independently.

Essential Skills

  • Experience building wire harnesses.

  • Proficiency in wire processing, cutting, soldering, and crimping/stripping wire.

  • Ability to read schematics.

  • Soldering experience.

  • Experience using a multi-meter.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous avionics or military experience (electronics technicians) is beneficial.

  • Understanding of NEC or ESD.

  • Radio frequency experience is a plus.

Work Environment

The work environment is climate-controlled and very clean. The facility operates Monday to Friday, from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with a 30-minute lunch break. There is flexibility to start earlier or later as long as an 8-hour workday is completed.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00
