Amazon Supplier Quality Manager (Mechanical), Quality & Lean Manufacturing in Hanoi, Vietnam

Description

This role is mechanical Supplier Quality Management (SQM) responsible for sustaining projects. As an integral part of delivering the highest quality product to the customer, SQM engage with suppliers as well as internal development and operation teams to ensure that the components and assemblies used in our products are designed and manufactured to specifications. Key responsibilities include supplier selection, development, and management. During the supplier selection process, the SQM will assess the capability of the supplier against the quality requirements of Amazon Lab126. During qualification and development, the SQM will ensure that the suppliers have the systems and processes in place to manufacture components and systems, in mass production quantities, and can monitor the quality levels using statistical process control and quality metrics. They will also ensure through mass production that the suppliers have adequate corrective action and continuous improvement initiatives in place so that the quality of the final product is not compromised.

• Resolve quality issues in time to assure the supply chain continuity

• Maintain suppliers’ quality performance meeting quality metrics

• Lead suppliers’ process change qualification

• Continuous improvements for cost saving

• Tooling health maintenance

• Implement regular process, production, and system audit

• Increase the team’s efficiency and productivity by reducing the volume of manual and tedious work

• Use quality tools to proactively identify and manage design, manufacturing and operational risks

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Hanoi, VNM

Basic Qualifications

• Deep knowledge on injection/stamping tooling design and manufacturing

• Hands-on experience for troubleshooting of tooling issues

• Familiar with 2nd processes, such as: assembly process, CNC, laser application, glue application, coating process, etc.

• Familiar with quality tools, such as: CPK, SPC, and hypothesis testing

• Able to translate raw data into common language

• Capable to manage multiple projects simultaneously

• Strong sensitive in quality and cost

• Good English communication

• 5+ year experience at least working at consumer electronics industry

• Team player and can-do attitude

• Willing to travel frequently (70%+)

Preferred Qualifications

• GB or BB certification

• PMP certification

• Technical project manager experience is a plus
