JOB DESCRIPTION:
POSITION SUMMARY (complete)
:
The primary responsibility of this position is to assemble products from components produced internally and externally while ensuring all quality standards are met. Under general supervision, the incumbent must maintain assembly line volume standards while completing tasks that require a large degree of mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity. Responsibilities captioned below are considered essential job functions:
Adhere to established safety procedures and 5 S standards (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize and Sustain the cycle) required to perform daily duties in this position, including the proper techniques used in lifting/moving of parts
Select component parts to assemble in accordance to the blue prints or instructions, inspect parts for damage and/or imperfections
Ensure tolerances are accurate by using the appropriate indicators such as gages, micrometers, dimentionaire, plug gages, air tools, hand torque, wrenches, job blocks and/or V-blocks
Operate machines required for pre-assembly operations including CNC machines, thrust washer machines, vertical drills, man-o-meters, parts washers, drill presses and Pressure Relief Valve (PRV) setting machines.
Assemble and fasten components according to plans, maintaining required quality standards
Coordinate parts using an assembly schedule
Visually inspect assembled products to identify component and product issues and inform the supervisor as needed
Perform basic tool and machine maintenance including checking oil levels and minor repairs
Trains employees in lower class assembly positions, as necessary.
Other duties as assigned; required being very flexible in their daily job assignments; cross-training is a must to assure this flexibility
ESSENTIAL DUTIES (complete)
:
Communication skills, ability to read, write and comprehend instruction
Ability to stand, stoop, bend, walk, reach frequently throughout the workday
Ability to lift items up to 35lbs. without assistance
Manual dexterity
Knowledge of shop mathematics and blue print reading.
QUALIFICATIONS (complete)
:
- * Completion of high school diploma or GED.
- * Strong math and attention to detail skills are required.
- * Must be able to effectively multi-task assignments.
- * Attendance on the job is essential. Strong over time commitment including Saturdays.
