*Position Summary: *

Reporting to the Senior Deputy Director of Learning and Development, the Manager of Learning and Capacity Building will work closely with the Youth Division’s leaders and staff to strengthen skills and build knowledge for maintaining and improving high-quality, data-driven programs. In collaboration with the Senior Deputy Director, this role will contribute to developing a learning and development model that aligns with the agency’s overall strategy and vision. The Manager will also support the Youth Division in areas such as strategic planning, technical assistance, data collection, and results-focused reporting.

Essential Duties:

  • Understand and promote the organization’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values to ensure alignment with organizational policies and procedures

  • Conduct site visits to assess, plan, and implement staff trainings, model evidence-based practices, and provide resources as needed

  • Collaborate with senior-level staff to create and document a learning and development model that informs the agency’s vision, approach, and strategies for high-quality, impactful youth and adolescent services

  • Maintain and refine tracking systems, ensuring participant and program data are up-to-date in various databases.

  • Conduct surveys to help the Senior Deputy Director assess learning and capacity-building needs and track and analyze trends across sites

  • Manage Learning Management Systems (LMS) and liaise with vendors as necessary

  • Drive internal and external understanding of the Youth Division’s vision and development opportunities, aligning with the agency’s goals

  • Serve as a liaison between the Youth Division, DYCD, DOE, and other city agencies on matters related to learning and development

  • Manage communication on training and development from the Senior Deputy Director, ensuring programs complete trainings and following up as needed

  • Take and synthesize meeting notes, facilitating action items and follow-ups

  • Design visually compelling materials (e.g., flyers, presentations) to promote training opportunities

  • Collaborate with the National Center for Community Schools and other partners to integrate best practices into local and national initiatives

  • Help establish an annual divisional progress report

  • Coordinate and organize in-person trainings

  • Stay current on trends in nonprofit learning, development, capacity building, and relevant technologies

  • Perform other duties as assigned

*Minimum Qualifications: *

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; preferably in education, youth development, or a related field.

  • 2-3 years of experience in school or nonprofit settings doing community engagement, non-profit partnerships, or communications.

  • At least 1 year of experience with a Learning Management platforms is a plus

*Key Competenices: *

  • Graphic design skills a plus

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and online data management systems

  • Skilled in creating data-driven presentations

  • Strong presentation and group facilitation skills, with excellent interpersonal abilities

  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Creative in developing workshop tools, materials, and resources, including oral and written content, posters, and slide decks

  • Understanding of adult learning principles is a plus
