MEMCO is hiring experienced

Drywall Journeymen and Helpers for commercial construction projects in the Rio Grande Valley and Corpus Christi. We are seeking dedicated, skilled professionals who take pride in delivering exceptional drywall installations.

Journeymen will lead and oversee the installation process, while

Helpers will assist with preparation and support tasks to ensure project success.

Key Responsibilities:

Drywall Journeyman:

• Measure, cut, and install drywall panels to precise specifications.
• Install sheetrock on walls and ceilings, ensuring proper alignment and smooth finishes.
• Collaborate with construction team members to ensure efficient, timely project completion.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized worksite.
• Interpret blueprints and project layouts accurately to execute drywall designs.

Drywall Helper:

• Assist journeymen with material handling and job setup.
• Cut drywall to specified sizes and assist in the installation process as directed.
• Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are ready for daily use.
• Keep the work area clean and organized to promote safety and efficiency.
• Follow instructions and complete assigned tasks promptly.

Qualifications:

Drywall Journeyman:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a drywall installer.
• Proficiency in using drywall tools such as tape measures, levels, utility knives, and T-squares.
• Strong experience in sheetrock installation, taping, floating, and finishing.
• Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.

Drywall Helper:

• 1 year of experience in construction or a related field (preferred but not required).
• Willingness to learn and follow instructions from journeymen and supervisors.
• Familiarity with construction tools and adherence to safety procedures is a plus.
• Strong work ethic and a desire to grow in the construction industry.

Job Requirements:

• Availability to work full shifts and overtime as needed.
• Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Reliable transportation to job sites in the Rio Grande Valley.
• Valid drivers license (preferred).
• Ability to pass a background check and E-Verify.
• Capability to work in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required.
