Position Overview

The Corporate Communications Specialist is responsible for writing, editing, and distributing content to enhance the company's image through effective communications.  This individual plays a vital role in supporting the company's communications strategies.  In addition, the Corporate Communications Specialist provides guidance and support to others on communications best practices.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plans, writes, edits, and delivers impactful marketing and communications content through various channels both internally and externally (i.e. written communications, talking points, video messages, presentations).
  • Ensures corporate communications accurately reflect the branding, positioning, and "voice" of our company culture.
  • Develops communications materials that support key business initiatives and stakeholder groups (employee, customer, and shareholder communications).
  • Assists in expanding PR program to drive more media coverage throughout entire footprint.
  • Works with all departments to develop and disseminate internal and external messaging of financial results, people and product announcements, and/or other corporate developments.
  • Reviews and edits internal and external corporate communications that align with MPB Style Guide and brand/corporate messaging.
  • Assists with drafting, editing, and distributing annual corporate communications materials (proxy, annual report, ESG report).
  • Coordinates with internal and external stakeholders to manage project timelines.
  • Updates investor website content.  
  • Assists in SEC regulatory filings and creating investor presentations.
  • Reviews and edits internal newsletters.
  • Works with marketing department to draft, review, and edit blogs, social media content, and marketing materials.
  • Assists with planning and executing the Annual Shareholder Meeting along with other corporate events or meetings as necessary.
  • Assists in managing relationships with media outlets.
  • Conducts research on industry trends, competitors, and media coverage to form communication strategies.
  • Assists in tracking engagement and media placements.

     

Education and Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, or journalism strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills required.  Familiarity with AP style strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of three (3) years' experience in related positions normally required.
  • Knowledge of current communications and public relations trends and familiarity with a variety of communication channels strongly preferred.
