DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Equal Opportunity Specialist 3, under the supervision of the EEO Investigations Bureau Director, is responsible for investigating complaints of discrimination and sexual harassment for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. You will be responsible for conducting investigations, interviewing witnesses, collecting data, and preparing reports of findings and recommendations for resolution in accordance with policy. Duties include advising employees and applicants on procedures for filing internal discrimination complaints, along with other avenues of external complaint filing, i.e. EEOC, PHRC, State Civil Service Commission and grievance procedure. You will have the opportunity to participate in the development, update, and implementation of EEO training for commonwealth employees, managers, and supervisors, on the use and maintenance of the case management system. This position will provide guidance to other investigators as requested.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. You may be required to report in-office periodically for meetings. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as an Equal Opportunity Specialist 2; or Three years of professional experience in an equal employment opportunity or human resources program and a bachelor's degree; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
