Reference #: 4609115 THE POSITION Are you interested in a highly technical and hands-on network position? If so, the Office of Administration Infrastructure and Operations Bureau may have the perfect opportunity for you. As the Edge Networking Network Administrator 1 you will focus on providing leadership to the commonwealth and contracted technical resources on the Edge Networking team as well as providing direct hands-on support, evaluation, and design of the commonwealth's complex and continuously evolving information technology network infrastructure. This position will also assist in the oversite of the networking team and operate as second tier support for other edge networking teams.

The Edge Networking team supports all networking operations and planned network deployments and upgrades as well as provides advanced network support for complex and specialized networking systems across the commonwealth's enterprise. These network technologies include but are not limited to: PennDOT's Traffic Management Centers' field networks, specialized Public Safety networks, EBRDC and DOS needs, statewide fiber initiatives, multiple SD WAN environments, multiple wireless networks, and edge firewalls (as needed).

The Edge Networking team provides incident and event support to operations for all commonwealth agencies, provides direct oversight for all network-related changes that the edge team performs, and supports other networking teams in the design, support, and architecture of highly sensitive commonwealth field and specialty networks.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position acts as one of the Edge Networking subject matter experts and works with other Edge Networking and Enterprise teams to ensure the appropriate and policy-compliant designs and documentation of all edge networking solutions. This position will lead and assist in the full and complete inventory and documentation of all Edge Networking environments, including those delineated as specialty or field networks, as well as evaluate and make recommendations on new technology. The individual in this position must exhibit a broad range of specialized skills in a highly technical team and possess the ability to provide hands-on technical network support and mentorship to highly technical team members and consultant employees as well as interact closely with other networking and IOB teams. Key responsibilities include: Supporting the timely delivery of all services Acting as subject matter expert on edge networks for all agency and business partner needs Participating in the oversight of best practices for all change management initiatives especially those related to planned deployments and upgrades across the Enterprise Leading assigned projects and objectives Leading efforts that ensure policy compliance across all aspects of Edge Network Working closely with other edge networking teams to maintain and the review edge networking catalogue of services through the ongoing service delivery improvement process Maintaining relationships with Enterprise business points of contacts, internal and external business partners, service providers, network carriers, and other Enterprise network teams. Maintaining consistent and clear communication with all stakeholders

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. Occasional on-site work will be required as workload demands. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as a Network Specialist 2, Telecommunications Specialist 2, Telecommunications Supervisor, or Radio Telecommunications Specialist 2; or Five years of information technology experience that includes two years of technical experience in network operation or network maintenance; or Three years of information technology experience that includes two years of technical experience in network operation or network maintenance, and an associate's degree in any information technology field; or An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes two years of technical experience in network operation or network maintenance
