Summary Job Description

The responsibility of the Project Manager is to provide and maintain overall direction of each project in a proactive and professional manner to include the list of duties below. Coordinate and properly communicate internally with estimators, superintendents, administrative assistants, accounting personnel and management to ensure all aspects of the project are being met. Coordinate and properly communicate externally with customers, consultants, architects and general contractors to assure all expectations are being met and to uphold our value of being the Choice.

Essential Functions:

  • Review and become familiar with all job specific information.

  • Prepare submittals and shop drawings, if required.

  • Schedule and attend pre-construction and weekly jobsite meetings.

  • Take and distribute meeting minutes.

  • Make necessary jobsite visits as required.

  • Purchase, track and schedule material deliveries.

  • Set-up jobsite utilities and major equipment needed.

  • Coordinate and manage subcontractors, if required.

  • Maintain jobsite records to include daily reports.

  • Control and report job costs.

  • Assist in the control and monitoring of job costs on a weekly basis.

  • Resolve technical or contractual issues.

  • Prepare and submit RFI’s.

  • Assure the customer’s expectations are being met.

  • Conduct post-job reviews, if needed.

  • Conduct weekly Stand-up meetings to go over current and upcoming project details and responsibilities and create meeting minutes as required

  • Attend bi-weekly Roofing Department Meetings.

  • Produce and maintain a master schedule to include all contract jobs and leak calls.

  • Coordinate contacting customers about scheduling. Estimators and support staff could assist if necessary.

  • Pursue on-going professional development training.

  • Be flexible and keep an open mind to change.

    Supervisory Responsibility

    Minimal manpower supervision. Assists in jobsite operations, but does not have hiring or termination authority. Roofing Superintendent is in charge of the field personnel and all jobsites.

    Required Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Minimum of five years commercial roofing/project management experience.

    Travel

    Ability and flexibility for occasional travel is expected for this position.

    Work Environment

    This job operates in a professional office environment as well as on site at construction locations. The use of computers, printers, cell phones, telephones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines is required. Other functions can take place indoors or outdoors, sometimes in high, precarious places with fumes and/or airborne particles. The standard work environment has loud to very loud noise levels associated with various equipment, coworkers and phone conversations. Often work must be performed in high and/or cramped workspaces and awkward positions. The employee works around hazardous situations, materials and equipment.

  • Ability to climb, lift and set up an 80lb. ladder and pull a 40lb. ladder to higher levels.

  • Excellent vision skills (with or without correction) are required.

  • Sit or stand for significant periods of time (4-8 hours).

  • Typing on and looking at a computer.

  • Talking on the phone/cellphone.

  • Ability to drive a vehicle for extended periods of time and throughout the workday.
