DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this position, you will be responsible for staff work for the VHF and 800 MHz systems within the Radio and Information Services Division. You will be involved in the development and modification of the Pennsylvania State Police statewide radio communications system. In this role, you will attend field pre-production meetings on Pennsylvania State Police Station relocations and explain the requirements of the Radio and Information Services Division to the officer-in-charge, troop communications specialist, and contractor, including telephone and radio requirements. You will also prepare detailed CAD drawings and specifications for radio communications equipment and communications rooms; inspect construction sites involving new stations, specifically the communications rooms and associated equipment; and evaluate the quality of radio repairs and services performed by the communications contractor or their agents.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. This position is not eligible for telework. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Please note, selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $64,959.00 (before taxes). QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as a Radio Telecommunications Specialist 1; or Five years of radio, microwave or related telecommunications experience which includes two year of system design or configuration and three years of general telecommunications experience that involved the installation, repair or maintenance of large commercial and/or governmental systems or systems engineering analysis with a public utility, governmental agency or private company. Post high school training in telecommunications technology, radio communications or electronics with emphasis in radio or microwave telecommunications may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to two years of general telecommunications experience.

Other Requirements: You must have the ability to obtain and maintain an active Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistance Network (CLEAN) certification issued by the Pennsylvania State Police within the probationary period and maintain the same for the duration of employment in this job.
