  • Job Summary

  • Under limited supervision, the Plant Operations Supervisor, coordinates the assigned Associates, to ensure completion of work. Provides training and orientation to staff. Contributes to the effective management of the department. Coordinates scheduled and unscheduled work for departmental Associates and contract personnel. Ensures that assigned work is completed in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Assists in managing budgets and supply requisition and disposition. Follows federal, state, and local regulations. Uses equipment manufacturer’s recommendations as guidelines and follows accepted engineering practices. Provides a variety of tasks relating to safety/security for the Hospital. Assists in the administration and directing of programs to insure the Hospital’s safety and security programs are provided for, and that the Hospital is maintained in a safe/secure manner. Demonstrates commitment to professional growth and competence. Exhibits the values of F.I.R.S.T.   • Working Conditions, Hazards and Physical Effort

  • Normal work assignments for this job will not require exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues, but employment may require performing supplemental tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues. Is at risk of injury by electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and construction equipment and supplies that are worked on as part of routine work. Will be working with some chemicals, and is subject to high levels of stress caused by emergency situations and move equipment. Must be able to move or position 50 lbs. independently.

  • Minimum Qualifications or Equivalents

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Experience: Minimum of five (5) years experience of repairing and maintaining mechanical/electrical equipment. Minimum of five (5) years of healthcare maintenance experience.

  • EQUIPMENT USED/SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

    Will be expected to coordinate and train Associates in all areas of work performed by the department.

  • Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registrations

  • As required if specialty functions are needed. Must have a valid Kentucky Driver’s License.
