This role will have a Hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation of working in an office location (Hartford, CT) 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).

The Business Analyst position is an exciting opportunity working with external Group Benefits (GB) customers to enable strategic data connections with their Enrollment and HRIS platforms. Working with our external clients, technology platform partners and GB business partners (Operations, Implementation, Sales, Claims, Client Relationship Managers, Product), the Business Analyst role will drive consultative conversations to determine the best data solution option for the Customer. The Business Analyst Role is responsible for implementing timely, high quality inbound and outbound data connections using Application Programming Interfaces (API’s) and traditional Electronic Data Interface (EDI) File Feeds to support complex client needs. The Business Analyst Role will use a variety of skills such as relationship building skills, consultation, data driven decision making and project management skills to prioritize work, respond to multiple deadlines, and balance concurrent tasks successfully in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead complex Customer implementations providing consultative support with data exchange options involving API and File Feeds.

  • Co-lead technical implementation calls with Implementation Managers on topics related to data exchange.

  • Ability to craft and manage documentation that supports the effective delivery of technology that meets specific business needs.

  • Responsible for integration configuration and testing activities with Customer and HR Tech platform.

  • Build strong relationships with external clients, external technology platform partners and Implementation Team.

  • Take accountability for successful Customer’s HR Tech platform experience.

  • Ability to recognize customer data sensitivity and limit use and distribution of protected information to the minimum amount required.

  • Partner with Best Practices team to build and maintain strong routines for updating all content.

  • Coordinates with Stakeholders to elicit, analyze, communicate, and validate requirements for the best technology platform implementation solution.

  • Possesses functional knowledge and skills reflective of a competent practitioner with the ability to deliver on work of high technical complexity.

  • Understanding GB Core Products and Services and ability to speak to each for a successful implementation.

  • Ability to craft and manage documentation that supports the effective delivery of technology that meets specific business needs.

  • Ability to apply the appropriate knowledge and techniques necessary to draw out requirements completely and accurately from stakeholders.

  • Ability to effectively interface with others and develop healthy, productive work interactions.

  • Effectively communicate to others and be a face of The Hartford on client calls.

  • Build strong relationships with external clients, external technology platform partners and Implementation Team.

  • Quickly troubleshoot and problem solve file data issues.

  • Committed to continuous improvement, welcoming best practice sharing and enabling an environment of ease in raising opportunities for change.

Qualifications:

  • Workday Certification Preferred

  • Requires knowledge of data analysis tools such as SQL and MS Excel including advanced formulas and functions, Ultra Edit, TOAD

  • Requires knowledge of Insurance claims practices, processing, and customer experience

  • Expertise with electronic data interface (EDI) practices such as file feeds and Application Programming Interfaces (API’s)

  • Requires broad knowledge of the GB functions and applications, and knowledge of system and technology alternatives, excellent communication skills, strong judgment, and the ability to work effectively with client and IT management and staff.

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$78,640 - $117,960
