When hospitals cannot provide the advanced care, expertise and new treatment options their patients require, they turn to us. The Hartford Hospital Public Safety department has been in existence for over 40 years providing a wide variety security services to the hospital community. The department has over 90 members that are all State of CT certified. Officers receive additional training from a certified in house instructor upon hire. Job Summary: Contributes to the development of meaningful goals and objectives for the department that align with the strategic direction of the organization by analyzing needs and developing recommendations. Communicates the goals and objectives to the staff and monitors progress during the year. Establishes performance expectations; coaches, develops, and evaluates performance to enable employees to be successful in contributing to the achievement of individual and department objectives. Informs and advises superior on hiring and disciplinary actions. Creates and maintains effective, positive customer service relationships by identifying customers and their needs, ensuring that needs are met, responding appropriately to difficult interactions, and educating the staff on the importance of quality customer service. Effectively and continually communicates with the staff, management, and customers to facilitate the flow of information necessary to the success of the employees, department, function, and the organization. Uses resources effectively and efficiently to achieve the goals and objectives of the department within established budgets by determining future needs, monitoring actual progress, and allocating resources to meet a changing environment. Bachelors Degree and/or appropriate certification. Experience managing and developing employees. Specialization in function and/or specific work experience typically required Strong communications skills required - both written and verbal. We take great care of careers.
