JOB REQUIREMENTS: Company: Illing Packaging Location: Richfield, WI Job Title: Human Resources and Safety Generalist Job Summary: The Human Resources and Safety Generalist will develop and implement HR and Safety strategies compliant with federal and state laws in alignment with the company\'s strategic goals. Responsible for the areas of safety compliance, HR administration, training and development, employee relations, incident management, compliance, and wellness and employee engagement. Position Type: Full-time Experience Level:Entry-Level (Minimum 1 year of experience) Supervisory Responsibilities: None Duties/Responsibilities: Safety Compliance:Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal (OSHA) safety regulations. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions. Develop and maintain safety policies and procedures. HR Administration: Responsible for HR functions, including talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, benefit administration, employee relations, and offboarding. Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases. Process changes related to employee benefits, leaves of absence, and payroll. Training and Development: Coordinate and perform training programs for employees and management, including new hire orientation, emergency response drills, safety education, and internal development opportunities. Document employee participation in trainings. Employee Relations: Address employee inquiries and concerns in a prompt and courteous manner. Oversee employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations. Act as a trusted resource for employees. Incident Management: Investigate workplace accidents, injuries, and near-misses. Document incidents and develop strategies to prevent future occurrences. Serve as the primary point of contact for reporting safety concerns and incidents. Serve as primary workers compensation coordinator and OSHA recordkeeper. Legal Compliance: Stay informed about changes to labor laws, safety regulations, and industry standards. Ensure that all HR practices and safety protocols align with legal requirements and organizational policies, including the Employee Handbook. Wellness and Employee Engagement: Develop and implement wellness initiatives aimed at promoting employee health and well-being. Organize wellness and engagement activities, such as health screenings, company appreciation events, and community outreach. Assist with employee engagement survey process. Special projects or other responsibilities as assigned by management. Required Skills/Abilities: Proven written and oral communication skills and ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy with all levels of staff.
