Robert Half Human Resources Generalist in Hauppauge, New York

Description

Our client has an exciting opportunity to be a part of growth in the HR department, the team of three is looking to find the right long term fit for this contract to hire position.

An HR Generalist is responsible for performing human resources-related duties and partnering with HR management and business operations to deliver high-quality HR services. This includes tasks related to recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, training, performance management, compensation and benefits administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute all phases of the recruitment process including job postings, resume screening, interviews, and onboarding administration.

  • Guide and manage the overall provision of Human Resources services, policies, and programs.

  • Administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.

  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues and conduct effective, thorough, on objective investigations.

  • Ensure legal compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and stay up-to-date on current employment legislation and regulations.

  • Oversee and manage performance appraisal system that drives high performance.

  • Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leaves of absence, compensation and resolve any issues that may arise.

  • Support the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field.

  • Proven experience as an HR Generalist or similar role.

  • Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures.

  • Knowledge of employment/labor laws.

  • Outstanding knowledge of MS Office; HRIS systems (e.g. PeopleSoft) will be a plus.

  • Excellent communication and people skills.

  • Aptitude in problem-solving.

  • Pursuing or obtained HR certification will be a plus (e.g. PHR, SPHR).
