Job Overview
This position will focus on the shop floor and the systems used to support manufacturing automation. Responsibilities include PLC ownership, development, support, troubleshooting, and data integration. Primary areas of delivery focus upon quality, yield, equipment efficiency, and machine integration.
Job Responsibilities
Develop, implement and use automation systems (distributed control systems, programmable logic controllers, SCADA systems) to control manufacturing processes.
Provide support for shop floor control systems and data integration to and from these systems
Gain understanding of manufacturing processes and apply this knowledge to existing and new systems solutions
Work cross functionally with Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations on a daily basis to identify, troubleshoot, and solve issues
Troubleshoot reported problems affecting production in various technical platforms
Self-motivated, willing and able to quickly understand the environment, and work hands on to solve business issues
Support shop floor networks (Layer 2) in conjunction with network engineers
Be willing and able to provide 24/7 support
Travel up to 50% as projects require, predominantly within New York State

Required Education and Experience
Must possess a High School Diploma and 5 years of experience working with shop floor systems OR a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a similar field and 2 years’ experience
Extensive experience with Rockwell PLC’s (Ladder Logic & Function Block)
Knowledge of Rockwell FactoryTalk solutions
Self-starter, curious, and inquisitive
Strong analytical and written/verbal communication skills
Must be legally authorized to work for a company in the United States without sponsorship
Preferred Education and Experience
Technical experience implementing and supporting a manufacturing environment
Ability to understand and troubleshoot shop floor networks
Knowledge of MS SQL Server management and development
Practical knowledge of S95 ISA Standards
Familiarity with networking equipment and protocols (Cisco, Stratix)
Working Conditions
• Work is performed in an office setting.
• Occasional exposure to industrial operations including: temperature extremes from approximately 35ºF to 100ºF; noise levels in excess of 85 dB; moisture and moving machinery.
