Job Purpose:

The Wood-Scheme (FM/FSC) Auditor is responsible for conducting audits related to Forest Management (FM) and Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification schemes. The auditor will ensure that clients' forestry operations comply with applicable standards and regulations, promoting sustainable and responsible forestry practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Audit Planning and Execution: Plan, conduct, and report on Forest Management and FSC certification audits in accordance with Bureau Veritas and scheme requirements.

  • Compliance Assessment: Evaluate clients’ forestry operations for compliance with FM and FSC standards, including sustainability, legal compliance, and environmental stewardship.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with various stakeholders, including clients, local communities, and regulatory bodies, to gather necessary information and ensure transparent audit processes.

  • Technical Reporting: Prepare detailed audit reports, including findings, non-conformities, and recommendations for improvement, in a clear and professional manner.

  • Continuous Improvement: Provide clients with guidance on continuous improvement practices and support their efforts to achieve and maintain certification.

  • Training and Development: Participate in ongoing training to stay current with industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to FM and FSC certification.

  • Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their needs and provide exceptional customer service.

  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks in clients' forestry operations and recommend mitigation strategies.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in forestry management, environmental auditing, or a related field.

  • Certification: Certified FM/FSC auditor or willingness to obtain certification within 6 months of employment.

  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of FM and FSC standards, forestry practices, and environmental regulations.

  • Skills: Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and audit software.

  • Language: Fluency in Vietnamese and English (both written and spoken).
