Job Description

Job Title: Head of Business Operation

Location: Vietnam

About the role:

Business Operational plays a key role in driving the culture of Continuous Improvement and providing Operational Excellence. The Head of Business Operations is accountable to provide LOC with the required business support to allow successful delivery of the business objectives for the area in alignment with regional. Support the team in developing and integrate commercial strategy to ensure product availability to patients. Implement processes and initiatives to allow patients access to Takeda product. Develop solid reporting methodologies for Business Intelligence, Sales Force effectiveness, Data and Digital as well as strong quality management.

How you will contribute:

Provide Strategic Direction

  • Define strategy and provide guidance to support business needs and future sustainability based on market dynamics with tailored approaches to meet the P&L targets for the LOCs

  • Support the head of the department to plan and ensure availability of adequate resources (people, Data digital, financial, processes etc.) to deliver business objectives seamlessly.

  • Identify potential business risks and pro-actively build right solutions to mitigate them.

  • Supports the assessment of portfolio management and commercial performances.

  • Support and implement the roll-out of LOCs initiatives such as short term projects, long range forecast, annual brand plan, KPI set up/tracking and etc.

  • Set-up annual incentive schemes for the LOCs following Regional guidance.

Deliver Revenue and Drive for Profitable Growth

  • Support the LOCs in the LRF, Brand Planning and MRP planning execution.

  • Project Manage the strategy setting and regular review to ensure that there is an engagement of the Strategy and strategy implementation.

  • Provide market insights and ad hoc analysis to support management team.

  • Undertake/co-ordinate specific market research projects.

Takeda Patient Centricity Strategy

  • Implement Strategies to ensure optimal availability of Takeda products to patients.

  • Set measures & procedures to allow proper agility & high responsiveness.

Operational Excellence

  • Manage the market insight information and produce regular reports to management if required.

  • Foster a data-driven culture that utilizes market insight and digital platforms to build predictability into business processes and decisions.

  • Ensure effective management of process change management, integrity of data, reporting, and education. Develop, upgrade, and monitor Commercial Operations systems.

  • Establish a clear and managerial process to track the effectiveness in terms of implementation and execution of all strategy projects.

  • Optimize sales force structure and territory alignment to improve profitability.

  • Ensure high-quality insights and analytics strategy and needs are being addressed in the area to understand customer needs.

  • Assist the Marketing team with the promotional grid.

  • Set the LOC SFE framework and principles, implement a targeting and segmentation process.

  • Develop solid reporting methodologies for Business Intelligence

  • Lead opportunistic projects with the Commercial Field team, Supply Chain, BU Franchise, and Finance, such as warehouse stock and out analysis, channel management, sales target, process optimization, and data management.

  • Optimize sales force structure and territory alignment to improve profitability, Streamlining for all Sales processing operations.

  • Provide daily reporting, monitor, and interpret sales data on a regional and national basis, and publish daily sales reports.

Building the Right Organizational Capabilities

  • Develop and implement performance management and training capabilities in collaboration with functional heads and support functions to enhance commercial effectiveness and align with organizational goals.

  • Optimize business capabilities for customer-facing teams by establishing an optimal setup and capabilities for front-line teams to deliver services efficiently and meet customer needs effectively.

  • Design a comprehensive training plan for frontline team enhancement, focusing on enabling them to excel in their roles and contribute significantly to company growth.

  • Enhance customer experience based on thorough analysis of business, market, and customer insights, recommending and prioritizing development initiatives for improved customer satisfaction.

  • Achieve best-in-class customer focus through dedicated time for regular interactions with internal and external customers, implementing strategies for enhanced customer engagement.

  • Drive continuous upskilling for value-added services, leading initiatives to improve sales force skills in providing enhanced services to patients and customers and fostering a culture of learning and development.

  • Take responsibility for training and development of the commercial sales force team, implementing programs to enhance their sales skills, product knowledge, and customer relationship management abilities.

Management of In-Market Sales and Stock Coverage

  • Support the achievement of In-market sales targets through managing optimally the products’ availabilities at all distributors’ branches ensuring geographical coverage.

  • Limit the expiry in the country from the annual in market sales.

  • Follow and report the stock and out movements and stock day levels of private, tender, and retail warehouses belonging to Takeda, and announce these within the Commercial team and Franchise departments.

What you bring to Takeda:

  • Bachelor degree; MBA preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years in a management role in bio/pharmaceuticals, biotechnology or life sciences industry is desired

  • In depth knowledge of the majority of the relevant business functions, BI and Commercial.

  • Business strategy and vision, financial management, cross-functional working, problem solving and judgement, analytical thinking.

  • Customer Centricity: Strategic networking and Development of solutions of customer needs.

  • Innovation: Anticipation of environmental changes and independent thinking
