Homer Opus Program Manager in Homer, Alaska

**Program Manager (PM) Job Description

Homer OPUS, a community-based nonprofit organization, believes that broad access to music education can change children's lives and transform community. OPUS runs string music education programs for individuals aged kindergarten through adult with the goal of building community through music. Our programs for the youngest string players take place at three elementary schools in Homer and Anchor Point and focus on using the power of violin instruction to build brain skills and social/emotional skills. Our after school orchestral ensembles add the skills of musicianship, support the development of individuals as musicians, and foster a lifelong love of music. Overall, OPUS offers a comprehensive string music education program from kindergarten through adult and aims to make this education accessible to all.

This position works closely with the OPUS Board of Directors, the OPUS String Program Director (SPD), teachers, principals, volunteers, parents, and other stakeholders. The PM reports to the Board and is a part-time salaried position. The PM will oversee completion of the following duties but might not complete all of the tasks her/himself. Many of the tasks required can be performed remotely. Some will require on-site presence and non-traditional work hours.
