The APAC Finance Center is a high-performing and culturally diverse team. A key priority of the department is to act as a center of excellence to drive alignment and improvement of financial reporting processes and systems in the APAC region. Here, you will have the opportunities to be involved in financial reporting duties, a variety of accounting functions and collaborate with different stakeholders on projects that make an impact on internal controls / process improvement in the region.

The role:

• Capture, track, and report revenue and expenses; determine appropriate procedures for accounting record preparation, research of transactions, and reporting end-to-end.

• Collect data, information, policies and perform research on details of transactions. Ensure work complies with corporate and accounting policies.

• Perform accounting month-end close procedures, run and analyze financial reports, and prepare financial statements for submission to Corporate.

• Full knowledge of balance sheets for responsible areas.

• Work with BPO to oversee, reconcile and resolve problems related to accounting entries requiring professional knowledge and judgment.

• Maintain and review accounting process controls, implement any approved modification as directed by management.

• Develop and maintain desktop procedures and process documentation for Stryker processes or review DTP's prepared by BPO.

• Proactively assess the internal controls environment and framework for improvement opportunities.

• Test, execute and document internal controls audit programs according to SOX and Corporate policies.

• Perform monthly monitoring and testing of key processes.

• Review, follow-up, and report on issues and associated management remediation action plans.

Your qualifications / skills:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.

• 3 to 4 years of audit experience in Big 4 / 2nd tier firms OR 5 to 7 years of commercial accounting experience in MNCs.

• CPA qualification. CPA finalists will also be considered.

• Strong MS Excel proficiency.

• Excellent communication skills in spoken and written English. Business level proficiency in Japanese is a highly valued advantage.

• Good interpersonal skills and ability to convey information clearly and effectively to business partners and stakeholders.

• Proactive and results-driven. Resourceful and has demonstrated good problem solving skills.

• High ethical standards and integrity.
