Job Requirements:

  • Operates similar production machines to perform similar operations or produce similar parts by a single or closely related step. Jobs are frequently of short duration, requiring frequent change in set-up. Has limited control over product quality.

  • Works from specific written or verbal instructions and general operating practices. Makes routine adjustments or sets up equipment for limited, readily definable, and measurable variables such as length, temperature or pressure.

  • Loads raw material into the machine, manually cycles, and unloads the finished product.

  • Performs additional operations such as identifying, removing flash, gates or other excess material, lubricating the product or tooling.

  • Routinely checks the product against fixed gauges and adjusts set-up accordingly.

  • Maintains production and equipment records.

    Responsibilities:

  • Provide relief for all Converting operations on a daily and/or weekly basis in order to maintain continuous quality production on all shifts.

  • Responsible for continuous training in order to learn all aspects of the department as well as all product characteristics.

  • Able to operate all mobile equipment.

  • Responsible to assist in general housekeeping of the department.

  • Always maintain a safe work environment.

  • Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned.

  • Must adhere to all company and location policies and safety rules

  • Must be able to work extended hours when required

  • All other duties as assigned

  • These responsibilities may change in the future to keep up with customer demands, equipment changes and improved Standard Operating Procedures

    Qualifications/ Experience:

  • Experience in papermaking or manufacturing

  • Able to work rotating shifts

    Qualifications/Experience Preferred:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Basic math skills

  • Highly motivated

  • Strong time management and priorities management skills

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Computer literate with knowledge of Excel. BPCS experience a plus.

  • Ability to interact with vendors and internal customers

  • Metrics driven

This is a Union position, starting pay is $18.17 per hour, after 90 days pay increases to $20.17 per hour

Qualifications/ Experience:

  • Computer literate with knowledge of Excel. BPCS experience a plus.
