Title : Senior Logistics Specialist
Location: Horsham Fully on site
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Logistics and Compliance Manager along side the Customs and Compliance Team you will work to and support the Logistics Team in ensuring Clinical Trial Products are delivered fit for purpose, on time and with flawless executions for the customer, at the right cost though importing and exporting processes.
Understand the impact of non-compliance with standards, policies, processes and procedures as set out within GPM, FCS SOP’s and Health and Safety Policies.
What will I do:
Responsibilities:
Support the Logistics Team and the wider business in the absence of the Logistics Manager in all aspects of the Logistics activities including attending meetings and required delegation
Pro-actively handle priorities relating to client / internal enquiries and issue
Ensure relevant order related paperwork is filed in accordance with regulatory and study requirements
Demonstrates leadership in supporting Logistics in raising all required shipment specific documentation license applications a timely completion!
Day to day interaction with couriers
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine the most efficient and cost-effective logistics strategies.
Involvement with all relevant internal departments to ensure the timely completion of order associated activities and advance where required
Providing cross training to other depts. in the business on Logistics process
Drive Logistics RFT and metrics including completion of QRs and CAPAs
Participate in business improvement projects across FCS to improve internal processes, develop and implement innovative solutions to optimize supply chain processes.
Be involved in recruitment of new starters
Lead the training for the team and any new starters
Update existing procedures and build new SOPs as required
Recommend best solution for shipments
Be a point of contact for escalation of Logistics issues
Interaction with various departments to support any Logistics based queries
Reasonable exposure to client with regard to client meetings
Undertake ad hoc duties as directed and agreed by Logistics Manager
Applies Good Manufacturing Principles in all areas of responsibility
Able to develop strong leadership skills; proactively anticipates, understands, and responds to the needs of clients to meet or exceed their expectations.
Delivery / Cost:
- Understand, support and coach team in applying PPI/Lean tools to improve process efficiencies to achieve business objectives.
Maintain, trend, and report departmental critical metrics. (Pacing boards)
How will you get here?
Re q u i r e m en t s / Q ual i f ic a t io n s:
Experience in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment is required
Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and prioritise effectively
Strong communication skills (verbal & written) - GCSE Grade C / 4 or equivalent
Good numeracy skills - GCSE Mathematics Grade C / 4 or equivalent
Ability to work within various temperatures including, but not limited to Ambient (15ºC-25ºC) and Cold (2º-8ºC)
Knowledge and exposure to logistics is desirable but not essential. Full training will be given to the right candidate.
