A growing industrial services company located in Northwest Houston is adding an Accounting Manager to their team. The company is experiencing growth and expects to triple in size to 1 B over the next few years. The Accounting Manager is responsible for providing high-level support to the Corporate Controller as they manage a company’s accounting and financial activities.

Responsibilities include:

• Preparing and consolidating financial statements

• Establishing and maintaining internal controls

• Managing all aspects of the general ledger

• Providing monthly, quarterly, and year-end analyses

• Coordinating or assisting with the budget process

• Researching accounting issues for compliance with generally accepted accounting principles

• Analyzing and reporting cost variances

• Ensuring all accounting practices are in compliance with legal guidelines and established accounting principles

• Assisting with billing and tax documentation preparation

• Working with the company financial team to create internal controls and policies

• Collaborating with the IT department to maintain financial records and system processes

• Identifying solutions to discrepancies in financial records

• Serving as a liaison to external auditors

• Supervising accounts receivable, accounts payable and general accounting departments

• Supervises Payroll

o Back up to completing monthly Union Reporting

o Back up to completing Certified Payroll

• Insurance

o Liaison to WC insurance and employee job codes

o Ensures all drivers are accurately reflected on insurance.

o Approves and reviews Union bonds with HR. Official record keeper of information

Required Experience and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA is a plus

• 5+ years of experience, with at least 2 in leadership capacity.

• Advanced Excel and experience with a large ERP- MS Great Plains a plus

Compensation is up to 110K plus bonus

Requirements • Demonstrated experience in an Accounting Manager/Supervisor role for a minimum of 5 years

• Proficiency in General Ledger management and operations

• Proven ability to conduct Bank Reconciliations accurately and efficiently

• Experience with Month End Close procedures and tasks

• Skilled in Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation

• Familiarity with MS Great Plains Dynamics software

• Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required

• CPA or CMA certification is preferred but not required

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
