Job Title: Plant Cost Accountant

Job Description:

We are currently seeking a skilled Plant Cost Accountant to join our large-item manufacturing team. This individual will play a crucial role in our financial and operational management, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial data. The ideal candidate will be experienced in standard cost accounting and knowledgeable in calculating labor, inventory, and overhead variances. Proficiency in tracking the cost of goods sold and inventory planning is also a must. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in using Epicor software. Since this role involves complex Bills of Material, it is essential for the candidate to have a thorough understanding of the same. This role offers a hybrid work schedule, however, some travel will be required in the first 6 months.

Responsibilities:

• Implement cost accounting systems and strategies.

• Monitor and analyze manufacturing costs and prepare related reports.

• Calculate labor, inventory, and overhead variances, tracking and reconciling as necessary.

• Contribute to the tracking and analysis of cost of goods sold.

• Collaborate in inventory planning and control processes.

• Manage complex Bills of Material and revise as necessary to ensure accurate costing.

• Work closely with other departments to provide informed financial insights and recommendations.

• Assist with monthly financial closings and generate periodic financial statements.

• Review operations and processes for cost-effectiveness and suggest improvements.

• Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards.

  Requirements

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or an equivalent field.

• Proven experience as a Plant Cost Accountant in a manufacturing environment, preferably in large-item manufacturing.

• Strong knowledge of standard cost accounting principles and procedures.

• Experience with calculation labor, inventory, and overhead variances.

• Solid understanding of tracking cost of goods sold and inventory planning.

• Familiarity with complex Bills of Material.

• Proficiency with Epicor software is preferred.

• Strong numerical acumen and attention to detail.

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and analytical skills.

• Willingness to travel in the first 6 months of employment.
