Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Data Analyst to join the data science team of one of our large oil and gas clients in the Houston area! This person must be local to Houston and willing to go onsite 3 days per week. They will primarily be supporting the drilling, completions and integrations team, but will also be pulling requested data for the IT, finance, HR and engineering teams as needed. This person will be responsible for mining, cleansing and manipulating data, optimizing SQL queries and views for data gathering, data request and integrations with other applications as necessary. This person must possess an understanding of upstream oil and gas terminology, thrive in a fast paced environment and be comfortable communicating with stakeholders, field, and office teams.

Skills and Requirements

3+ years of data analyst experience

3+ years of working within the oil and gas industry

2+ years of experience scripting with Python

Experience writing simple and complex SQL queries

3+ years of experience converting Spotfire or PowerBI dashboards

Associates Degree (Computer Science or Engineering preferred) HTML, JSON or API programming languages

Experience gathering data within WellView null
