TEKsystems Desktop Support Technician (Hospital Setting) in Houston, Texas

External Job Description

The Desktop Support Technician role involves providing technical assistance to hospital staff, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and ensuring smooth IT operations. Growth opportunities include specialization, certifications, and advancement to supervisory or project management roles.

Responsibilities:

Provide technical support to hospital staff, including doctors, nurses, and administrative personnel.

Troubleshoot hardware and software issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.

Install, configure, and maintain operating systems and applications.

Respond to user inquiries via phone, email, or in person.

Collaborate with IT teams to resolve complex technical problems.

Ensure timely resolution of support requests to minimize disruptions.

Assist with network connectivity and user account management.

Maintain accurate documentation of support activities.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 1 year of experience in desktop support or a related field.

Strong customer service skills and ability to work well with diverse hospital staff.

Proficiency in Windows and macOS operating systems.

Familiarity with Active Directory, Microsoft Office Suite, and remote desktop tools.

Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Ability to lift and move computer equipment as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification in CompTIA A+ or similar.

Experience working in a healthcare environment.

Knowledge of electronic health records (EHR) systems.

Experience Level:

MID-LEVEL: 1 - 4 years of experience with desktop support, we need someone who has experience in daily operations of a role like this.
