Job Description
David Weekley Homes is seeking an Estimating Manager who will be responsible for on-time and accurate estimating of material quantities to build homes.
Primary Functions:
Manages estimating priorities and schedule
Staff, lead and develop estimating team
Maintain estimating standards across the organization
Coordinates with team to understand workload
Ensures governance of estimating standards
Liaison with design to maintain consistency of plans and value engineering opportunities
Employs and manages internal and external resources to provide material quantities
Coordinates with divisional and area purchasing to understand and correct estimating-based variance/plan changes.
Manage soft cost amounts for communities
Conduct Community Set- Up meetings to ensure proper budgets to avoid variance
Qualifications:
3-5 years in Residential Construction operations
2+ years in Construction Purchasing to include estimating, construction and negotiation
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related degree
Excellent negotiation skills with demonstrated success in this area
Read and thoroughly understand residential blueprints
Strong math and excel computer skills are essential and exposure to JD Edwards beneficial
