Job Description

David Weekley Homes is seeking an experienced Financial Reporting Manager to join the Accounting and Finance team at our Houston home office located at I-10 Katy Freeway and 610. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Accounting, team member development, project management and leadership.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage and develop a team of 5 to accomplish team objectives

  • Oversee the timely and accurate preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports and ad hoc analysis

  • Conduct variance analysis of division, region and consolidated financial statements

  • Review/post journal entries daily and review balance sheet account reconciliations and budget revisions monthly

  • Coordinate the annual budget process, supporting operations managers in understanding and reporting their budgets

  • Identify and drive process improvement, working with existing automation tools, and facilitate development and transition to new tools

  • Respond to questions from operations and senior management on a timely basis, providing a high level of support

    Requirements

  • Four year degree in Accounting required

  • At least 5 years of management experience in an Accounting field

  • At least 3 years of financial analysis experience

  • Strong technical skills and ability to pick up new things quickly

  • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite required

  • Comfortable working with all levels of management

  • Ability to recognize and adapt communication style to needs of recipient

  • Strong commitment to provide superior customer service

  • JDEdwards and Essbase experience a plus
