Description We are providing an opportunity for a Network Engineer in the telecom industry. This role is based in Houston, Texas, and offers a contract to hire employment opportunity. As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for administration and support of enterprise network systems, including network design, performance analysis, and fault management.

Responsibilities:

• Configuration, implementation, and maintenance of various network hardware such as Cisco Firewall, Cisco Router, Cisco Switch, and A10 Load Balancer

• Monitoring network systems using tools like WhatsUp, MRTG, and ThousandEyes

• Inventory management of network devices and warehouse

• Remote access maintenance and configuration

• Management of cable and internet connectivity configuration, implementation, and maintenance

• Maintenance of UNIX scripting and logs

• Provide support outside of regular working hours, including evenings and weekends

• Participation in disaster recovery/business continuation activities

• Work with client community to understand business processes in order to determine network requirements

• Independently develop appropriate solutions to network/application related issues and ensure change control procedures are followed

• Proficiency in TCP/IP protocol analysis, VoIP protocol configuration, and analysis

• Administration of operating systems: Unix, Linux, Windows

• DHCP configuration and maintenance

• Maintenance and configuration of network monitoring tools

• Data center design and management

• Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interface effectively with a diverse user community

• Knowledge and understanding of Network administration and maintenance

• Working knowledge of IP, Cisco IOS for Routers and Switches, and Cisco ASA Firewalls

• Understanding of routing protocols and functional experience within Network Configuration

• Advanced understanding of the Authorization Concept for network. Requirements • Demonstrated experience with Cisco ASA Firewall

• Proficiency in operating and maintaining Cisco Firewall

• Familiarity with Cisco Hardware including routers and other products

• Ability to troubleshoot basic network issues

• Strong knowledge of network engineering principles and concepts

• Excellent problem-solving skills, with a focus on innovative solutions

• Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware

• Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network devices

• Deep knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols

• Ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems

• Strong analytical skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
