Description We are offering an opportunity for a Sr. Accountant to join our team located in Houston, Texas. The role involves leading accounting recognition for manufacturing and field service operations, maintaining intercompany accounts, and assisting with cash flow forecasting and property tax compliance. This role serves in the manufacturing industry.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee accounting recognition for various operations, including manufacturing and field service operations.
• Handle full procure-to-pay cycle, inventory management, and fixed asset accounting.
• Manage accounting recognition for prepaids and other assets, such as goodwill and intangibles.
• Calculate and record capitalized interest following current standards.
• Monitor intercompany accounts and carry out monthly reconciliations.
• Gather and compile data related to related party transactions.
• Take charge of parts of the month-end closing process and associated reconciliations.
• Prepare recurring analyses and internal management review reports, and provide variance explanations monthly and quarterly.
• Prepare accrual journal entries for certain areas, coordinating with stakeholders for information during monthly close.
• Assist in cash flow forecasting for assets and inventory and perform related analysis and reporting.
• Aid in property tax compliance and coordination with third-party consultants.
• Participate in special projects as needed.
• Maintain evidence for Sarbanes Oxley 404 compliance and assist in corrective actions, where required.
• Coordinate audit requests with external auditors, internal auditors, and other auditors as necessary.
• Ensure compliance with Accounting Policy and technical standards related to job responsibilities.
• Collaborate on process improvements, automation enhancements and other technology projects as needed.
• Assist with preparation and compliance of SEC reporting materials and maintain documentation to support SEC filings. Requirements
• Must hold a minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior accounting role
• Demonstrated proficiency in Account Reconciliation is required
• Skilled in Balance Sheet Reconciliation
• Experience in performing Bank Reconciliations is necessary
• Familiarity with General Ledger management is essential
• Ability to make Journal Entries accurately and efficiently
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required
• Experience in conducting Month End Close procedures
• Familiarity with SAP accounting software is required
