As Manager and webcam system engineer you will drive the evaluation of the hardware architecture of our webcams and be responsible for its definition for our new products. This will include collaboration with the webcam engineering team, with the technology office, discussion with the marketing team, and regular interaction with our external suppliers to inform design choices based on market needs and latest innovation. You will lead a team of engineers (electronic engineer, mechanical engineer, …) to select, develop, qualify, and maintain those platforms. Your technical background and experience allow you to make recommendations, discuss them with a team of seasoned engineers, and drive successful implementation. You are passionate about products and delivering amazing experiences to enhance the life of millions of people as they create and interact everyday with digital content.

  • Collaborate with Project/program managers, product managers and product designers to understand and establish product’s requirements

  • Propose innovative and cost effective solutions adapted to users requirements and portfolio needs

  • Manage a team of seasoned engineers with diverse background to define, prototype, and evaluate technical solutions for new products

  • Take part actively in competitor product evaluation, new technology testing, and new technology developments in the fields of optics, sensor selection, System on Chip, and other relevant components

  • Lead the engineering team responsible for webcam development and actively participate qualification activities

  • Actively contribute to the development of our innovation roadmap for webcams through collaboration with the technology office. Influence product definition and roadmap from key technology suppliers

  • Lead and staff webcam hardware engineering team. Regularly evaluate team capabilities, identify areas for improvement and training

  • Foster a positive working environment allowing team members to grow and have fun while working together on exciting projects and technologies

  • Collaborate with functional managers to build team capabilities to deliver new products and drive innovation

  • Collaborate with functional managers to establish budget for projects, innovation, and other activities

  • Ensure that activities operate within the policies and process of the organization

Key Qualifications:

For consideration, you must bring the following minimum skills and experiences to our team:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the video industry (webcam, security camera, camera, …) as a key contributor on hardware solution development

  • Engineering degree in optical engineering or electrical engineering

  • Passionate about video and audio products

  • Strong cross functional knowledge in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering as well as a good understanding in embedded software

  • Great interpersonal skills, including the ability to work and manage resources across organizations and geographies

  • Good understanding of working with a functional team in a Global Environment.

  • Experience in collaborating with stakeholders internally and externally ranging from engineering to sales and marketing

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Chinese

  • Ability to identify key requirements for a new product, formalize them into technical requirements and propose cost effective solutions to deliver outstanding performance

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks across projects and innovation activities

  • Ability to travel internationally

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong technical background and 5+ years of experience in the video industry

Education:

  • Bachelor or Master degree in optical engineering or electrical engineering
