Axient is seeking a Jr. Cybersecurity Engineer to work with our customer in Huntsville, AL.

What you will do...

• Develop, review, and update the documentation necessary to assure that government systems meet the Risk Management Framework (RMF) Cybersecurity standards and requirements for DoD and Army systems.

• Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations for secure implementation and compliance in accordance with government regulations and information assurance/cybersecurity guidelines.

• Responsible for tracking and reporting compliance status.

• Work closely with team and the O-ISSM to provide analysis, evaluations, and recommendations based on design to promote an strong, efficient, and effective security program.

• Conduct vulnerability scans using ACAS and SCAP, push patches and updates, and mitigate vulnerabilities.

• Work closely with systems engineering through acquisition, development, integration, and testing activities to ensure the system or product is secure, survivable and resilient.

• Maintain awareness and knowledge of evolving security threats and risk management.

• Conduct continuous monitoring of the system security and complete Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA) annual assessments.

• Utilize eMASS in support of the RMF process.

• Collaborate with the developers and maintain required artifacts in support of RMF specific to each project.

• Provide inputs for weekly and monthly reports.

• Coordinate with cyber security team as required to maintain Interim Authority to Test (IATT) or Authority to Operate (ATO).

• Support engineering and Capability and Limitation (C&L) test events, which includes but is not limited to: Network Integration Evaluation (NIE), Army Interoperability Certification (AIC), Cooperative Vulnerability Penetration Assessment (CVPA), Adversarial Assessment (AA), Security Control Assessments Validation (SCA-V), Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V), and Systems of Systems (SoS) Engineering/Record tests.

Skills you will need...

Required Skills

• DoD 8570.01-M Information Assurance Management Level I certification.

• Must have an active and transferable DoD security clearance with current investigation at the required level. Must be able to maintain the required clearance

• Must be willing to travel

Required Experience

• Must have 2 yrs Cybersecurity and RMF implementation experience

• Must have Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) experience

Preferred Experience

• Product office support

• Tactical systems (e.g. C2, Radars, Munitions)
