Noblis Senior Architect / Model Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) in Huntsville, Alabama

Responsibilities

Noblis is seeking a Senior Architect / Model Based Systems Engineer (MBSE).

The Senior Architect /MBSE Engineer will work across Noblis supporting the MBSE Chief Architect in the areas of classic system engineering, model based engineering, and digital transformation. The candidate will work with business development, scientific researchers, senior technical staff, proposal teams, and customers to develop solutions, integrate innovative approaches and technology for incorporation into new system engineering services.

Roles and Responsibilities

Perform as a solution architect during the development of reference architectures, system architectures, specifications, program and customer briefings, white papers, and other engineering products.

  • Broad systems engineering experience in the areas of naval systems, aviation, telecommunications, networking, information systems, cyber security and other DoD and civilian domains.

  • Experience with legacy SE and MBSE tools – Cameo System Modeler (Magic Draw), Rational Rhapsody, legacy DOORS, DOORS NexGen, etc.

  • Creating, developing, and maintaining models using languages such as Unified Modeling Language (UML), Systems Modeling Language (SysML), Unified Profile for (UAF/UPDM).

  • Developing and leading MBSE training classes covering modeling languages, modeling best practices, and the use of MBSE tools to create various types of models (Enterprise, System, Acquisition, Business Process, etc.).

  • Leading and participating in Scientific Research supporting MBSE and digital engineering initiatives within Noblis and our customers.

  • Sharing and integrating MBSE meta-data and data architectures with other software tools and tool chains creating Authoritative Source of Truth (ASoT) solutions.

  • Providing analysis, evaluation, and recommendations for improvement of various types of MBSE artifacts (taxonomies, ontologies, model schema, models, etc.)

  • Experience developing and creating tiered system requirements, interfaces, behavior, and structure to support analysis and stakeholder decision making of both logical and physical models.

  • Proven ability to work effectively and collaborate in a team environment.

  • Strong written, communication, and presentation skills.

Required Qualifications

  • Must have an active Top Secret clearance

  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 8 years’ experience in technical fields related to system engineering with a strong foundation in MBSE

  • Ability to execute advanced, complex technical tasks

  • Possess state of the art technical knowledge of the industry trends and emerging technologies for system architecture, MBSE, and Digital Engineering

  • Ability to work autonomously and effectively with others in a team environment

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to summarize and brief senior level leaders (military, government and civilian) and produce briefing materials.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products and other common engineering tools and software.

  • Able and willing to travel

Desired Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in system engineering or related discipline.

  • Clearance: active Top Secret

  • OCSMP Certification System Model Builder Intermediate or higher

  • Experience with software processes/scripts to automate modeling tasks

  • Background in the implementation of digital engineering, agile, DevSecOps development principals, data science, and data visualization techniques

  • Working knowledge of the government acquisition lifecycle (DoD and Civilian)

Salary at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, and clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is provided within the posting and are based on full time status. Part time staff receive a prorated salary based on regularly scheduled hours. The estimated minimum and maximum displayed represents the broadest range for this position (inclusive of high geographic and high clearance requirements), and is just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package for employees.

USD $124,200.00 - USD $217,350.00 /Yr.
