Hy-Line Cruises Grounds Maintenance Worker in Hyannis, Massachusetts
Grounds Maintenance staff assist in the daily operations of the Property Management Department. Grounds maintenance staff report to the Property Manager primarily but will be given daily tasks/assignments by the Assistant Property Manager. The diverse nature of Hy-Line Cruises properties means that staff perform a multitude of tasks including building maintenance, grounds maintenance, refuse collection & removal, & other projects. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Building Maintenance Painting ? Interior & Exterior Carpentry ? repair of all wooden elements of buildings, hardscape, construction of wooden accessories, door & window repair as well as, drywall repair or installation Cleaning ? maintain a clean & safe environment, in or around buildings in conjunction with professional cleaning service. Pressure washing asphalt, patio & concrete surfaces, as well as trash totes Grounds Maintenance Mowing lawns/fields, edging, weeding & trimming. Turning flower beds, planting, mulching, fertilization & spring/fall clean ups of all planting or common areas Construct or repair timber retaining walls or raised flower beds, fence repair & installation Snow removal, shoveling, sanding, salting walkways, stairs & other common areas for both rental buildings & main terminal/office buildings Refuse collection & removal Using 75-100-gallon garbage totes, transferring trash, emptying trash cans as needed, removing all waste to offsite compactor, including recyclables Repair & maintain All company equipment, within confines of ability/safety & under the supervision & direction of the property manager. Other Duties: As needed or assigned Licenses, Registrations, &/or Certifications: Staff that will be driving company vehicles must have a current MA driver\'s license & clean driving record. Required Education & Experience: High School diploma or currently enrolled Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Staff are required to lift at least 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation, & must be comfortable working from ladders with heights up to 10 feet. Must be 18 or older to operate machinery or drive company vehicles (such as Fuso Lift Gate truck). Landscaping/Building maintenance experience is a plus but will train someone who is eager to learn. Must be able to safely perform the essential duties for the position, with or without, reasonable accommodation. Minimum 15 years of age with equipment use restrictions. Typical Work Environment: Work is performed outdoors with varied weather conditions, & indoor or warehouse environment as the work dictates. There can be significant noise related to machinery & daily work environment. Staff work in a building & grounds, construction, maintenance, & marine environment.
