Vail Resorts Financial Reporting Manager in Hybrid, United States

Job Summary:

The Financial Reporting Manager will be an integral team member of the Financial Reporting team and report to the Senior Manager of Financial Reporting. This individual will be a key part of the month-end process (including journal entries, account reconciliations, and other various accounting tasks), external reporting to key stakeholders, and other various internal and external reporting obligations. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, motivated individual and a self-starter who can identify opportunities, propose solutions, identify process improvements and see them through to completion in a deadline-oriented team environment.

  • Expected Pay Range: The budgeted range starts at $74,100.00 - $88,000.00 + annual bonus. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Record and post journal entries.

  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations.

  • Assist in the preparation of external financial statements in compliance with US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations.

  • Assist in the preparation of non-public subsidiary financial statements in compliance with US GAAP and/or IFRS.

  • Prepare external audit materials and support relationships and requirements with internal and external auditors to provide complete documentation and explanation for transaction types.

  • Prepare detailed tie-outs of financial statements and internal and external presentations, including board of director meetings, investor conferences and lender conferences.

  • Assist in the preparation of ad-hoc requests for analyses and information.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required (or demonstrated experience in lieu of education).

  • At least three years of experience which includes public accounting and/or financial reporting experience. Technical accounting knowledge of US GAAP and SEC requirements preferred.

  • CPA preferred.

  • Detail-oriented and proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel & Word).

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong analytical and problem solving skills, as well as exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • Experience with Workiva, Blackline, Alteryx and/or PeopleSoft Financials a plus.

  • Ability to handle multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, including remote work with geographically dispersed team members.

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $74,100.00 - $88,000.00 + annual bonus. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.

Vail Resorts offers a ‘Hybrid’ work environment where employees living within 50 miles of the Broomfield office work on-site Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and have flexibility to work off-site on Mondays and Fridays.
