Optum Technology is seeking a Sr. Technical Training Consultant to join a highly visible and dynamic team responsible for the delivery of IT integration services for our acquired entities. Primary Responsibilities:
Responsible for the effective delivery of training programs and experiences for a variety of internal and external audiences
Translate business needs and complex problems into training/development resources by gaining in-depth knowledge of Optum’s Technical infrastructure integration initiatives and business goals
Leverage Subject Matter Experts as needed to ensure that appropriate learning content is accurate and current
Translate technical experiences into simple, understandable language and develop appropriate training material, documentation and communications
Work creatively and independently, comfortable working in frequently changing environments with a focus on problem solving, enabling teamwork, innovation and excellence
Telecommuter role with “central time zone” business hours focus
Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Shift timing: 3:30 pm to 1:am flexible
Required Qualifications:
Graduate/post graduate degree or 11+ years of equivalent work experience
3+ years of experience with adult learning/training, virtual training, instructional design and training project management
Experience with multimedia production such as training productions, training videos, and voice recording
Experience presenting to and/or facilitating conversations with executive level audience
Experience working in health care industry
Facilitation and presentation skills with the capability to engage, inspire and teach adult learners at all levels
Demonstrate critical thinking and navigating ambiguity to deliver quality results
Ability to create Standard Operating Procedures, Job Aids, Playbooks and effective communication material
Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
Proficient with eLearning authoring tools (e.g. Articulate, Camtasia, Captivate) and SharePoint Online
Proven ability to work in a self-directed manner in a fast-paced rapidly changing environment
Proven ability to manage and foster high level relationships across a large enterprise and influence without formal authority
Proven excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Communicate and share training best practices with applicable stakeholders across the business
Mergers and acquisition (M&A) integration experience or understanding
Proven excellent/demonstrated leadership, communication (written, verbal, presentation) and interpersonal skills
Comfortable with presentations to all types of audiences, from executive leaders to clinical staff experiencing technology changes
Proven stellar organization and comprehension capabilities with a keen eye on details
Ability to maintain a positive, professional learning environment, applying humor as appropriate
Ability to maintain poise and professionalism during the facilitation process (e.g., in difficult situations)
Ability to respond appropriately to unforeseen circumstances during delivery (e.g., media, logistical, technology issues) to maintain an effective learning environment
Aptitude for learning new technologies
Proven outstanding customer service skills and dedication to providing exceptional customer care
