Job Description

QA Assurance Engineer (Automation)

  • Responsible for contributing as a QA advocate for a team doing front end & back-end testing with focus on Web, SaaS and mobile platform-based products.

  • 5-8 years exp in Software Testing (Manual & Automation testing) with exposure to test automation tools like Selenium, webdriver, Protractor, etc

  • Diverse exposure in various projects and application testing with comprehensive understanding of all aspects of SDLC.

  • Well versed with Usability, UAT, Functional, System, Integration Testing, Regression and Smoke/Sanity testing.

  • Good experience in analyzing changes and identifying impact areas of the application to be regression tested.

  • Experience in developing Effective Document like Test plan, Project closure report, Test matrix and Test Cases based on Requirements.

  • Demonstrate the understanding of Agile software development lifecycle and able to distinguish the core inputs and outputs in each cycle.

  • Engage in technical discussions; participate in technical designs and present technical ideas through white boarding

  • Seek and provide feedback on design and automation opportunities

  • Demonstrate the ability to make informed technology choices after due diligence and impact assessment

  • Understand whole product, its modules and the interrelationship between them and incorporate it in Test plans

  • Articulate the need for scalability and understand the importance of improving quality through testing.

  • Be an expert in System and integration testing that meets standards and delivers the desired functionality using the technology selected for the project

  • Be an expert in assessing application performance issues and flagging it for optimizing/improving it through design and best practices

  • Work with Product Line Leaders (PLLs) and business teams to understand product requirements & vision

Technical expertise

  • Has good experience in Selenium-3, JMeter, Katalon Automation tools and Postman API.

  • Has Good experience in developing scripts like Javascript (must have),Selenium, QTP, Java, Python and Katalon with clean code.

  • Has experience in developing, automating API’s using Postman API tool.

  • Has experience in integrating Automation framework with Continuous integration CI tool.

  • Has experience in git for code maintenance.

  • Has expertise in Selenium automation using Selenium WebDriver, Selenium Grid with JAVA.

  • Has good experience in microservices architecture and REST APIs.

  • Has good exposure to containerization technologies like docker , Kubernetes ,Azure, AWS or any other cloud platform.

  • Should have knowledge on Application deployment servers like Tomcat, JBOSS etc.

Roles and Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Own and deliver medium-sized quality engineering tasks while mentoring and helping team members

• Make technology choices at individual level and analyse impact

• Apply principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and Testing Techniques

• Integrate project testing with continuous-integration process

• Work with fellow team members to diagnose bugs and formulate solutions

• Provide expertise in the quality engineering, test planning and testing methodology for a software project

• Develop and executes maintainable automation tests for acceptance, functional, and regression test cases

Education Qualification

For roles outside USA:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with advanced experience.

For roles in USA:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with minimum years of experience4years

Desired CharacteristicsTechnical Expertise:

• Has extensive experience in test automation

• Demonstrates experience and ability to write Java code for the purposes of testing solution code (e.g., white-box testing).

• Has experience in testing web services

• Has experience with issue-tracking and agile project management systems

• Has experience working in Linux/Unix and Windows environments.

• Has experience working with virtual machines (VMs) as part of a test/integration infrastructure

• Demonstrates the initiative to explore alternate technology and approaches to solving problems

• Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements and estimating efforts

• Demonstrates awareness about competitors and industry trends

• Has the ability to analyse impact of technology choices
