Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Hot Fuel Examination Facility (HFEF) Research Operations Supervisor to work at our Materials and Fuel Complex (MFC). Our team works a 4x10 schedule located out of our MFC facility with every Friday off.

The Materials and Fuel Complex (MFC) at the Idaho National Laboratory (INL) is looking for a Hot Fuel Examination Facility (HFEF) Research Operations Supervisor, and you will report to the HFEF Nuclear Facility Manager (NFM). If you want to be part of ensuring nuclear energy research and development, including deployment of next-generation nuclear reactors then this position is for you.

The Hot Fuel Examination Facility (HFEF) Research Operations Supervisor directly manages the daily research operations activities within the nuclear facility. As first line management, provide managerial and technical expertise to personnel performing activities within the assigned facility.

Responsibilities

Provide guidance of ongoing research operations and ensure all work activities are conducted following approved procedures and laboratory instructions.

Communicate directly with research and facility management to obtain priorities, schedule mock-up activities, communicate equipment issues, schedule delays, and any other research related action.

Oversee all ongoing research and material movements to maximize efficiency and complete work activities.

Provide guidance and coordination of sample transfers internal and external to the facility.

Manage Individuals (RIs), Fissile Material Handling Supervisors (FMHS), Fissile Material Handlers (FMH) and maintaining appropriate staffing qualifications to support research.

Provide clear, well established / communicated expectations delineated from facility and research management.

Provide recommendations for qualification programs and training for new equipment/activities.

Implement all responsibilities contained in the management model, planning , staffing, leading, accessing, and improving.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree and five years relevant experience in a nuclear, industrial, commercial environment.

Or you have A combination of 13 years of education and experience.

Five years in a group lead or supervisor experience is required.

You will be asked to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.

  • Salary Grade: SUP/510 ($76,980 $177,036)
