Job Description:

The Supply Chain organization has responsibility for updating and maintaining master data processes for Indianapolis Device Assembly and Packaging (IDAP). The Associate Director – IDAP Master Data is a key contact for all technical and tactical master data information in the area and is the key link for all functions in the plant and in the broader supply chain for system updates in SAP and issue resolution.

The Associate Director – IDAP Master Data provides system upgrade support for SAP S4 Hana, DSP, EWM technical teams, functions as an SAP power user and S4 technical data lead, provides mentorship and coaching for other data stewards, and provides problem solving and process improvement capability. Additional responsibilities include master data management strategy and innovation, translating impacts to production and other systems, and assisting with the development of the capacity of the team to align to the completion of all site production-related activities, as well as assimilation and communication of site and functional metrics as required. Will be responsible for the investigation of and full approvals of deviations and change controls within the TrackWise System.

Key Objectives/Deliverables:

Safety & Quality

• Maintain a safe workplace through proper ergonomic practices (WorkPace compliance and use of ergo equipment)

• Maintain a state of compliance (learning plan, SOP adherence, etc.)

• Responsible to track team activities and recommend and drive improvements for safety and quality within the Supply Chain scope.

• Understand Global Quality System requirements for Master Data, stay current on updates and coordinate site updates to maintain compliance

Process Improvement / Mentoring

• Identify and implement process improvement opportunities across platforms

• Connect with global supply chain and other network sites regarding improvement opportunities

• Provide problem-solving assistance and mentorship to master data stewards/ local data stewards (LDAs)

• Function as a back-up for the Manager – IDAP Project Team and Master Data on projects, issues, and meetings

Planning/Scheduling

• Alignment and optimization of master data analysis and implementation to drive effective and efficient production needs plant wide

• Partner with master data stewards to facilitate preparation/presentation of metrics and continuous improvement projects

• Work with master data team to convert data requests and material set up needs in SAP the right way first time every time

• Identify master data best practices through benchmarking with other Manufacturing Sites, GSC, and coordinate implementation with master data stewards on the policy and procedure updates to reflect those improvements

• General hub for all master data related communication in the flow teams; represent supply chain at flow teams and lead team meetings as required when there is site impact or resolutions required.

• Work with all tertiary Supply Chain functions within IDAP and other sites to include global supply chain, launch leaders, purchasing, planning, customer service, quality master data, and DSP to ensure master data support is timely and as accurate as possible

Capacity Management

• Generate, analyze, and report master data metrics

• Perform scenario analysis to understand impact of various strategic options

Customer Service

• Network with stakeholders to assure data updates are deliverable and viable

• Works with upstream and downstream master data and global supply chain resources as necessary to align plans and trade off resource needs as necessary

SAP knowledge & Metrics

• SAP Master Data Power User for the area

• S4 technical planning leadership

• Generate OSSCE (Operational Standards for Supply Chain Excellence) metrics as required for Master Data

• Pareto analysis of OSSCE metrics driving continuous improvement

• Work with stakeholders to improve plant supply chain processes and performance

• Help set up and review data in SAP and DSP as necessary; work to ensure data is maintained accurately (examples: scrap rates, recipes, data clean-up, data review, etc.)

Minimum Requirements:

  • Subject Matter Expert level experience in Supply Chain, and SAP

  • Knowledge / Experience in Manufacturing/Packaging Supply Chain and/or Customer Service

  • Strong organizational and Project Management skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Knowledge of OSSCE metrics

  • Excellent Computer skills (e.g., MRP, SAP S4, Excel)

  • Previous manufacturing site master data experience

  • Knowledge of global quality system, compliance, and risk management

Additional Preferences:

APICS certification

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or other technical field of study or equivalent in work experience.

Other Information:

  • 8-hour days – Monday through Friday

  • Availability off-shift (nights/weekends) for response to operational issues as needed

  • Minimal travel required
