Boehringer Ingelheim Senior Project Manager Global CAPEX Projects in Ingelheim, Germany

The Position

As newest member of CBD Finance & Group Functions Global Facilities & Engineering (GFE) bundles EHS, Security, Real Estate & Facility Management and Engineering globally, striving to serve BI’s site network as strong infrastructure and business partner.

Global CAPEX Management is accountable for all big CAPEX projects worldwide.

As part of the Global CAPEX Project Management Team, the Senior Project Manager will be responsible for the successful management of big CAPEX Projects (> EUR 50M).

This position can be filled in Ingelheim or Biberach.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • As a Senior Project Manager, you will take charge of steering large-scale (>EUR 50M) global projects that hold strategic importance. Your mission will be to ensure these projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet all specifications.

  • You will be the guiding force behind significant capital investment projects, leading them through all phases and across various technological domains, such as Bio and API.

  • Your role will extend to effective cost control, managing changes, and fostering communication within the project team. You will align project goals and execution strategies, shaping the future of our projects.

  • With your expertise, you will orchestrate the project procedures and specific plans necessary for project execution, ensuring that the project team adheres to the agreed standards and requirements, setting the bar for excellence.

  • Moreover, you will take the reins of communication, liaising effectively with key stakeholders, primarily the Steering Committee and the relevant Business Unit partner.

  • Your focus will be on maintaining the highest quality throughout all project phases, keeping in mind environmental protection, occupational safety, and GMP compliance until the successful completion and acceptance of project deliverables.

  • Additionally, you will shape and develop the project organization, ensuring timely onboarding of required resources while also contributing to the evolution of our organization by introducing industry best practices.

Requirements

  • Degree in engineering (Dipl. Ing. / M. Sc. / B. Sc.) or equivalent (mechanical / process / chemical or equivalent)

  • Long-term engineering experience and thereof profound experience in big (>EUR 50M) investment projects in an international environment

  • Excellent project management skills and expertise of big CAPEX projects as well as long-standing and proven professional experience as a Project Manager Engineering in global, strategic projects in the life science and pharmaceutical industry

  • Know-how in EHS and Quality aspects paired with strong knowledge of cGMP/GLP regulations, ICH, FDA CMC, ISPE and PDA Guidance Documents is preferred

  • Broad leadership experience for the management of internal and external resources in international environment

  • Well-developed communication skills in English and a high willingness to travel and relocate
