Position Summary:

The Grounds crew/landscaping team member will be integral to the upkeep and enhancement of our picturesque campus grounds. The responsibilities will include performing various landscaping tasks such as mowing, trimming, planting, watering, and maintaining flower beds and green spaces. Additionally, they will assist in maintaining hardscapes, pathways, and outdoor recreational areas. A keen eye for detail and commitment to quality will contribute to the overall beauty and functionality of our campus, ensuring a welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors alike.

Essential Duties:

  • Landscaping duties, including but not limited to mowing, trimming, planting, and maintaining flower beds and green spaces, with particular attention to detail and aesthetic appeal
  • Perform irrigation system repairs and maintenance to ensure efficient watering and sustainability of campus landscapes.
  • Execute thorough leaf removal operations throughout the campus grounds during peak seasons, employing efficient techniques and equipment to maintain cleanliness and safety
  • Prepare construction sites by clearing debris, grading surfaces, and ensuring proper drainage to facilitate smooth and safe construction operations
  • Facilitate event set up and tear down activities, including arranging furniture, installing decorations, and ensuring venue readiness to create inviting and functional spaces
  • Support luggage staging and delivery operations during summer camp sessions, ensuring timely and accurate distribution of belongings to campers' designated locations
  • Conduct debris, trash, and recycling duties across campus, including collection, sorting, and disposal in accordance with established waste management protocols and sustainability initiatives
  • Operate snow removal equipment and tools, such as snowplows, tractors, RTVs, shovels, and salt spreaders, with precision and efficiency to clear sidewalks, parking lots, and other high-traffic areas promptly and effectively
  • Assist with shipping and receiving tasks, including unloading deliveries, inspecting incoming shipments for accuracy and damage, and preparing items for distribution or storage
  • Other duties as assigned 

Work Environment:

Work is performed at various sites throughout the campus environment with extensive internal and external stakeholder contact.
