The successful candidate will conduct proactive advocacy to survivors of violence and abuse; and assist them with accessing resources. They will also be required to monitor the status of the shelter and operate the 24/7 crisis phone line. This position is a very vital one in our community, and for this reason we are looking for individuals with passion, determination, and a strong sense of serving the community.
Responsibilities:
- Identify potential problems and take action to ensure that the shelter is a safe, healthy place for all residents.
- Provide conflict mediation, promotion of a safe environment, and identify potential problems and take action to ensure that the shelter is a safe, healthy place for all residents.
- Promote the safety, health and well-being of shelter residents and staff.
- Provide information and referrals to community resources.
- Use advocacy skills to elevate the needs of shelter residents and staff.
- Work as part of a team assessing the strengths and needs of shelter residents.
- Collaborate with other staff to deliver necessary services to residents.
