Job Summary and Qualifications

• This position oversees the operations of the Nursing Administrative Services (House Supervisors, Staffing, Bed Management, Throughput, Float Pool, Sitters, Trauma, Respiratory, Cath Lab, Therapies, Wound Care Nurse Practitioner, Pathway to Excellence Coordinator, Clinical Support Resource Nurse, and Dialysis).

• Plans, direct, and coordinate all operational activities for areas of responsibility.

• Develops policies and procedures as well as quality improvement programs for areas of responsibility.

• Ensures areas of responsibility are appropriately staffed by hiring and retaining competent staff.

• As a member of Medical City Las Colinas leadership team, makes a significant contribution to the public's perception of the hospital.

• The Director is responsible for all departmental functions in support of the hospital’s mission, vision, and facility goals.

• The Director identifies the cost-effective systems needed to support the business of the department taking into account business trends, resource availability, and changes in customers.

• This position establishes effective working relationships with all constituencies including patients, physicians, employees, volunteers, and vendors.

• The Director identifies and remedies through continuous customer satisfaction data and employee involvement.

• The Director works with Senior Management in meeting Facility goals.

• Performs additional duties as assigned.

What qualifications you will need:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required.

• Master’s degree required within 12 months of hire or transfer required.

• Minimum of 5 years management experience to include management of personnel, payroll, budgets, capital, business planning, marketing, supervisory positions, and physician relations preferred.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

• Current RN licensure by the State of Texas or from a Compact State if you declare the Compact State your Primary State of Residence required.

• Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification required.

• National Specialty Certification encouraged.
