Tompkins Community Bank Reporting and System Analyst in Ithaca, New York

Overview

The individual in this position will lead the global Tompkins Financial Advisors (TFA) team for the core system process and workflow support. This individual will need to drive consistency of workflow processes and routines based on established policy and procedures. This individual will lead the incorporation of new business system features into the established workflows or build new as needed. This individual will also support the business development and other compliance-oriented and financial reporting by working closely with the TFA Compliance Officer. Create unity and consistency across all TFA markets.

Responsibilities

  • Produce and analyze reports including but not limited to business development, annual growth, benchmarking and compliance by defined deadlines.

  • Drive consistency across TFA workflows support including but not limited to:

  • New account set-up and Closing of accounts.

  • Deposits/Disbursements

  • Trading

  • Reporting

  • Account status changes, Account ownership changes

  • Meet with various market teams as needed for review or training

  • Lead centralized support for Core Trust Accounting Platform.

  • Assist client facing and internal teams with strong working knowledge of other business systems used within TFA.

  • Lead, analyze and manage TFA systems workflows to improve efficiency;

  • Communicate clearly in business writing formats

  • Lead or assist training sessions as needed

  • Develop best practices for use of all technologies

  • Analyze business systems enhancements or changes.

  • Partner with Wealth Management Assistant Lead and TFA Compliance officer on reviewing, incorporating and communicating system enhancements or changes as well as department workflow enhancements.

  • Proactively seek opportunities to coordinate with other departments to improve operations, service, and technology in an effort to meet the Company’s objectives.

  • Attend core systems innovation meetings as needed.

  • Work with TFA back office operations to back-up or cross train as needed.

  • Oversee special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent required, an Associate’s Degree in a related field preferred

  • A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a wealth management and or trust department

  • High aptitude for systems and software applications

  • Basic understanding or familiarity with trust, investments and financial planning, excellent oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, independent decision maker, excellent time management skills to manage multiple priorities.

  • Proficient mathematical, analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong industry, product, and branch procedures knowledge

  • Detail oriented with superior organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks

  • Exceptional writing, interpersonal and client service skills

  • Team player with the ability to collaborate with others

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment
