MTC Grievance Coordinator in Jacksboro, Texas

Pay: $22.00 per hour

Schedule – Full-Time, 8-hour shifts

We provide a safe and secure working environment for our staff while helping an at-risk population receive the treatment necessary for success on their road back to a healthy, productive life.

Essential Duties:

  1. Ensure grievance forms are readily available to all offenders.

  2. Create, plan and coordinate grievance function for assigned facilities.

  3. Travel to all assigned facilities is required.

  4. Collect all grievances (Step 1 and 2) from the offender population each workday, to include collecting grievances from offenders housed in special housing unit.

  5. Ensure all grievances are reviewed for emergency issues and proper submission criteria.

  6. Ensure all grievances are reviewed, coded and logged into the grievance case tracking system on the date of receipt.

  7. Immediately process any grievance that contains a complaint about matters for which disposition within regular time limits would subject the grieving offender to a substantial risk of personal injury or cause other serious or irreparable harm.

  8. Assist offenders with the submission of grievances and appeals when requested by an offender.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from a college or university accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or by the United States Department of Education (USDE). Major course work in Criminal Justice, Behavioral Science, or a related field preferred. Each year of full-time, wage-earning criminal justice experience may be substituted for thirty (30) semester hours from an accredited college or university on a year-for-year basis.

  • A valid driver’s license in the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.

  • Must successfully complete annual background checks and in-service training requirements, both of which must be approved by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ).
